Anyone is susceptible to tooth loss due to decay, gum disease, or accidental injury. This problem, however, is a common one among seniors. Fortunately, it’s a problem that can be fixed through restorative dentistry. For many people, partial dentures are ideal for replacing missing teeth as it is affordable, minimally invasive, and effective in restoring your oral health and smile. If you live in Maryville, Tennessee, or surrounding communities, you can come to Proffitt Dentistry for lower or upper partial dentures.
Partial dentures can be removable or fixed. Fixed partial dentures (also known as a dental bridge) are artificial teeth attached to dental crowns placed on adjacent healthy teeth or implants embedded in your jaw to hold them in place. Your dentures then become a permanent fixture in your mouth that look and act like natural teeth.
Removable partials are artificial teeth affixed to a plastic gum-colored base that connects to your mouth via a metal framework to hold them in place. Dr. William Proffitt can customize your artificial teeth set for size, comfort, function, and appearance to give you optimal benefit from your new teeth.
If you’ve lost natural teeth prematurely and are looking for a solution to restore your smile naturally, lower or upper partial dentures could fit the bill. Today’s dentures are more comfortable, durable, and customizable than ever for enhanced function and a natural-looking appearance.
