Nighttime bruxism, or teeth grinding, can lead to various issues, including:
Unaddressed bruxism can result in significant dental and overall health issues. Seeking timely intervention, such as the use of night guards, is crucial to mitigate these consequences and improve sleep quality.
Night guards are custom-fitted oral devices designed to alleviate the detrimental effects of bruxism, or teeth grinding, during sleep. By creating a protective barrier between the upper and lower teeth, night guards help distribute the forces exerted during grinding, preventing excessive wear and tear on tooth enamel.
Additionally, they promote proper jaw alignment, reducing strain on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and minimizing associated discomfort. With regular use, night guards can significantly decrease the occurrence of headaches, jaw discomfort, and disrupted sleep patterns caused by bruxism, ultimately improving overall oral health and enhancing sleep quality for individuals affected by this condition.
