If you think one missing tooth won’t make much difference to your smile, think again! That one missing tooth could throw off your bite or cause other teeth to shift out of alignment to fill the gap left by your lost tooth. Losing a front tooth can wreak havoc on your smile! Fortunately, you can replace a missing tooth quickly and easily with a single tooth denture. An evaluation by Dr. William Proffitt at Proffitt Dentistry in Maryville, Tennessee, can determine if a single tooth denture is a good fit for you.
Single tooth dentures are partial dentures designed to replace individual missing teeth. Dr. Proffitt will customize your denture to closely resemble the rest of your teeth so that it fits in naturally with your smile. Your denture will consist of a prosthetic tooth attached to a gum-colored base, which slides into the gap left by your natural tooth. When in use, your tooth will be held in place by metal clasps that attach to adjacent natural teeth. At night, you can remove your denture for cleaning.
Although several dental options exist for replacing single missing teeth, none are as simple or convenient as single tooth partial dentures. Here are some advantages of choosing this procedure:
