Tooth loss affects more than just your physical appearance. It can impact your health, happiness, and mental wellbeing. If you’ve lost teeth in your senior years, you can restore your oral health and smile with dental implants. Implants let you eat, speak, and smile with confidence so you can enjoy life to the fullest in your golden years. Proffitt Dentistry offers dental implants to senior patients in Madisonville, Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Seymour, Tellico, Alcoa, Vonore, Lenoir City, and Maryville, Tennessee.
Age isn’t an issue when it comes to getting implants. Seniors can benefit from implants just as much as younger individuals. However, you need to have good oral health, adequate jawbone density, and good overall health to qualify for this procedure. By assessing your tooth and gum health and reviewing your medical history, Dr. William Proffitt can determine if you’re a good candidate for implants.
One of the greatest benefits of implants is their biocompatibility with your system, which helps contribute to the success of the implant procedure. The process involves oral surgery to embed the implant into your jaw in the gap left by missing teeth. Once there, your bone will fuse with the implant system and become a permanent foundation for your replacement teeth.
If you’re replacing individual missing teeth, Dr. Proffitt will attach a dental crown to your implant to function as your new tooth. An implant bridge is used to replace multiple missing teeth in a row, and implant-supported dentures to replace all of your teeth. These fixtures are custom-made to look, fit, and function every bit like your natural teeth. You can eat, talk, laugh, and smile with ease, knowing your smile is healthy and whole again.
Dental implant costs will vary depending on the type of care you need. By offering finance options for our implant procedures, we make it easier for our patients to obtain this valuable care.
